Instructions for Intercessory Prayer

We are so grateful that you have chosen to allow God to use your life through intercessory prayer! So often, we "have not because (we) ask not" James 4:2

Intercessory prayer is simply lifting others and their needs up to God. God works through intercessory prayer to bring salvation, deliverance, healing, protection, and provision to those we pray for.
How do we do pray?
First, Prepare Your Own Heart.
We must remove anything in our own lives that would hinder our prayers by acknowledging God and His good work on our behalf, repenting of our sins, and coming under the full authority of Jesus Christ who is our Savior, Lord, and King.
Second, Stand in the Gap.
Begin lifting people up to God by name. Pray that everything you have mentioned for yourself would be applied to the people you are praying for. Pray that those who need Christ as Savior would be surrounded by loving witnesses who will lead them to Him and to His church.
Third, Specific Requests
Each of us know people who are facing challenges in their lives. Ask God to heal the sick, provide for needs, deliver people from besetting sins, or whatever would be a blessing to the specific person and situation and bring glory to God.

May God bring abundant blessings into your life as you 'stand in the gap' for others!
